Poulenc Trio – Upcoming Concerts
A pioneering oboe, bassoon, and piano ensemble with a 20-year history, the Poulenc Trio has earned international recognition. The group has performed numerous concerts throughout the US and at prestigious music festivals worldwide, including Italy's Ravello Festival, Mexico's San Miguel de Allende Festival, and Russia's White Nights Festival. The New York Times praised its "elegant rendition" of Piazzolla's tangos, and The Washington Post commended the musicians for doing their namesake proud with an "intriguing and beautifully played program" that exuded "convincing elegance, near effortless lightness, and grace." The trio's concerts have been featured on American Public Media's Performance Today program, and its recordings are regularly broadcast around the world.
The Poulenc Trio has significantly contributed to the piano chamber repertoire by commissioning and performing over 22 new works, and embarked on innovative concert initiatives such as "Music at the Museum" which pairs musical performances with museum exhibitions. The group has collaborated with the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore Museum of Art, and State Hermitage Museum in Russia, among others. The trio is known for its education outreach programs, notably its "Poulenc and Snacks" series tailored for younger audiences, and masterclasses at universities nationwide.
