A powerful collection of European masterpieces brings together hypnotic rhythm, color and flair. Between the inspired impressions of human journeys through beautiful landscapes of sea, sky and the famous pines, double-Grammy winning percussionist Evelyn Glennie will take the stage. She will perform the world premiere of Sean O'Boyle's Portraits of Immortal Love, inspired by the stories endured 100 years ago when families and friends awaited news of their loved ones. Showing the power and aching beauty percussion can bring to our emotional state, the piece will feature instruments as diverse as waterphones, hand bells, singing bowls and shell wind chimes. This is a rare opportunity to witness music making history in Tacoma.
