Mozart – Viola Quintet in G minor
Schoenberg – Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night)
Mozart’s famous and light-hearted Eine Kleine Nachtmusik is “supreme entertainment on an artistic level that only Mozart could attain” while his Viola Quintet in G minor is “startlingly dramatic and vivid in both personality and form.” Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht is based on a poem of betrayal, acceptance and forgiveness by Richard Dehmel.
Founded in 1996, the fully-professional Auburn Symphony Orchestra is led by Stewart Kershaw, internationally-renowned conductor and former music director of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra.
This concert is sponsored in part by the City of Auburn and the Garneau-Nicon Foundation.
