NOCCO is a new Seattle-based, collaborative, self-governed ensemble led by violinist Victoria Parker. Its membership comprises dynamic professional musicians who perform regularly with Seattle's major musical institutions. Adventurous programming offers a many-centuries' span of beloved large-scale works performed with the intimacy and spontaneity of chamber music. Collaborations with living composers are an exciting part of the orchestra's mission: new work premiers are an integral part of its broader programming.

These inaugural performances will feature the spectacular pianist Mark Salman performing Shostakovich's First Piano Concerto plus the world premier of a new work by Northwest composer Roupen Shakarian. Founders and string section leaders are Victoria Parker and Blayne Barnes, violins; Heather Bentley, viola; Eli Weinberger, cello; and Matthew McGrath, bass. Also on the the program is Handel's sparkling Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 1 and Britten's youthful and joyous work for strings, the Simple Symphony. Please visit us our site for additional information and ways to become involved in supporting NOCCO!
