NOCCO is a new Seattle-based, collaborative, self-governed ensemble led by violinist Victoria Parker. Its membership comprises dynamic professional musicians who perform regularly with Seattle's major musical institutions. Adventurous programming offers a many-centuries' span of beloved large-scale works performed with the intimacy and spontaneity of chamber music. Collaborations with living composers are an exciting part of the orchestra's mission: new work premiers are an integral part of its broader programming.

These inaugural performances will feature the spectacular pianist Mark Salman performing Shostakovich's First Piano Concerto plus a new work by Northwest composer Roupen Shakarian. Founders and string section leaders are Victoria Parker and Blayne Barnes, violins; Heather Bentley, viola; Eli Weinberger, cello; and Matthew McGrath, bass. Also on the the program is Handel's sparkling Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 1 and Britten's youthful and joyous work for strings, the Simple Symphony. Please visit us our site for additional information and ways to become involved in supporting NOCCO!
