Stilian Kirov, conductor
Seattle Symphony

Brahms – Academic Festival Overture, Op. 80
R. Strauss – Don Juan
Tchaikovsky – Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture

Get a sampling of the Romantic Era with this Sunday Untuxed concert. The program begins with Brahms’ boisterous Academic Festival Overture, a favorite symphonic showpiece based on student drinking songs from the 1850s. Then, hear two works that bring tales of unbridled passion and unrequited love to life: Strauss’ Don Juan and Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture.
