Wagner – Tristan und Isolde: Prelude and Liebestod
R. Strauss – Concerto for Horn No. 1, Op. 11 in E-flat major
R. Strauss – Feierlicher Einzug
Gershwin – Piano Concerto in F major

The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Richard Strauss in performances of two of his works, the Concerto for Horn No. 1 and Feierlicher Einzug. The first work is likely the result of growing up with a famous horn player at home, his father, and the latter work was composed in 1909 for ceremonial events held by the Knights of St. John.

Debussy’s beautiful masterpiece L’aprés-midi d’un faune and Wagner’s extract from Tristan und Isolde will hold you spellbound with their innovative harmonies and rich orchestral tapestry.

Bringing the season to a rousing conclusion is Gershwin’s jazzy Piano Concerto in F major.

Admission: $19 adult; $16 senior/student/military/teacher; age 18 and under free.
