The highly regarded 40-voice Northwest Chamber Chorus, under Music Director Mark Kloepper, closes its 47th Concert Season with two performances of “A Joyful Noise!” This program, with music celebrating the beauty and joy of music, includes songs by many different composers and from many different eras, including Sing Joyfully by William Byrd, Exultate Deo by Scarlatti, Parce Mihi Domine by Morales (with soprano saxophone improvisation by Michael Brockman), Cantate Domino by Monteverdi, Salmo 150 by Aguiar, and The Silver Swan by Gibbons.
Also on the program are Wondrous Love arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw, Cry Out and Shout by Knut Nystedt, traditional spirituals The Battle of Jericho arranged by Moses Hogan, Deep River arranged by Anders Paulsson (with soprano saxophone improvisation by Michael Brockman), There is Sweet Music by Edward Elgar, Musical Risotto by Jonathan Willcocks, Earth Song by Frank Ticheli, The Old Church by Stephen Paulus, and Music, When Soft Voices Die by Frank Bridge.
