When a work is translated into another language, sometimes details and original meaning get a little weird and then you think, “What the, huh?”

This month, Opera on Tap looks at the semantic side of singing with Lost in Translation.

It’s no secret that operatic works are written in foreign languages, but when the words are translated into a language other than the composer’s native, sometimes it’s just a bit silly. Evening’s selections include works from Don Giovanni, Hansel and Gretel, The Rake's Progress and more with translations that sometimes have ended up just a little left of center. More about the show here.
