About Ave
Ave Renaissance Women’s Choir is an auditioned amateur ensemble specializing in the performance of Renaissance polyphony. Founded in 2010 by conductor Rebekah Gilmore, the choir maintains a flexible roster of 16-24 singers and is under the auspices of the Early Music Guild of Seattle’s Community Collegia program.

Ave is proud to have performed for concerts, services, and fundraisers at Trinity Parish Church, St. James Cathedral, and St. Marks Cathedral in Seattle as well as St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Medina. Performance projects frequently include the addition of period instruments with projects rehearsed in a condensed 5-week rehearsal schedule. Special emphasis is put on vocal technique as applied to this repertoire.

The singers of Ave come from wonderfully varied musical backgrounds and perform with many other Seattle area choral ensembles but we all share a deep love and enjoyment for Renaissance polyphony!
