Rogerson – Luminosity
Beethoven – Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, Op. 58
Nielsen – Symphony No. 3, Op. 27 “Sinfonia espansiva”

The BSO kicks off the season with Luminosity, a new work by young composer Christopher Rogerson. Pulsating with energy and orchestral color, this piece lends the perfect opening to the orchestra’s new season. Rick Rowley, piano, will be showcased in Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto, of which the opening measures are some of the most beautiful music Beethoven ever wrote.

The concert concludes with Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 3. Maestro Schulz, a passionate advocate of Denmark’s most-famous composer, is delighted to once again bring Nielsen’s music to Bainbridge. This symphony radiates life affirmation and happiness, and it is stocked with themes that will leave you humming!
