Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, piano

Rachmaninoff – Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G minor
Beethoven – String Quartet No. 9 in C major
Debussy – Cello Sonata
(arranged for cello and harp)
Albéric Magnard – Quintet for Piano and Winds

Rachmaninoff is arguably one of the greatest melodists in classical music, as seen in his Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G minor, which is paired with Beethoven’s intellectual masterpiece, String Quartet No. 9. The intimacy and transparency of this program are handled gracefully by musicians of the Seattle Symphony and are wonderfully experienced in the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall.
