Eric Neuville, tenor

Join the Seattle Art Song Society as we present mezzo-soprano Sarah Larsen in recital with pianist Elisabeth Ellis and featuring tenor Eric Neuville.

The program will feature songs by Rachmaninoff, settings of the mischievous Jean de la Fontaine fables by Lecocq and Trenet, "Abraham and Isaac" by Britten featuring tenor Eric Neuville, and ragtime parlor songs of the suffragettes by various composers of the early 1900s.

Praised as “sizzling,” “riveting” and possessing a “plummy, ripe mezzo,” Ms. Larsen made her Metropolitan Opera debut in the 2016 – 2017 season as Käthchen in Sir Richard Eyre’s production of Werther. In the 2017-2018 season, she continues at The Met with productions of The Merry Widow, Cendrillon, and Parsifal with Music Director Designate Yannick Nézet-Séguin.

An alumna of the Seattle Opera Young Artist Program, Ms. Larsen enjoys a long relationship with Seattle Opera. She has been featured as Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, The Secretary in The Consul, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, and Maddalena in Rigoletto, among others.

Ms. Larsen is from Roseville, MN and attended Simpson College (B.M. Vocal Performance) and Rice University (M.M. Vocal Performance.) She continued her training with residencies at the Aspen Opera Theater Center, Sarasota Opera, Virginia Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, The Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera and the Schwab Vocal Rising Stars Program at Caramoor. Ms. Larsen is the recipient of the Catherine Filene Shouse Career Grant (Wolf Trap Opera), the Donald Gramm Memorial Award (The Santa Fe Opera), two-time recipient of the Seattle Opera Guild Training Grant and 3rd place winner in the Houston Grand Opera Eleanor McCollum Competition. She currently resides in New York, NY.

Single tickets $20-$30, or $16-$26 when purchased as part of a season subscription.
