For the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra’s final concerts this year, the orchestra turns to celebrated American composers including Leonard Bernstein, John Williams, and Aaron Copland. John Williams’ music for the Spielberg-directed film Lincoln reveres and mourns the late president. Copland explores socio-economic variability in his opera The Tender Land. Although the opera itself was not successful, this suite of extracted music has moved audiences with its beautiful melodies and nostalgic overtones.
This program also showcases the 2017 winner of the BSO’s annual Young Artist Concerto Competition. Join us as we bring this monumental season to a peaceful and stunning conclusion.
