The Philharmonic is joined by the superb Seattle-based pianist Allan Dameron for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24, a work noted for its simultaneous darkness of spirit and stunning lyricism. SPO's gifted Assistant Conductor Allion Salvador leads the orchestra in a performance of Anatol Liadov's exquisite The Enchanted Lake. The program opens with Franz Schubert's effervescent overture to Rosamunde, and closes with Carl Nielsen's most personal symphony, the Sinfonia semplice (No. 6), in a rare live performance.
