Weber – Concerto for Bassoon, performed by Davis Hampton ’18, bass clarinet, Concerto/Aria Competition winner

Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra is delighted to team up with the University of Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra in this special performance. This concert will be off-site – held at Schneebeck Concert Hall, University of Puget Sound.

Mahler had an exceptionally interesting yet tumultuous life. His music evokes an expansive emotional gamut, ranging from the most despairing to the frivolous. Conducting for the world’s greatest orchestras and opera houses, Mahler left behind some of the most significant work in the symphonic repertory. He continuously pushed at the boundaries of form, scope, orchestration, and performance. In his First Symphony we get a glimpse of this extraordinary human and the music born from his fertile imagination.
