Vivaldi – "Spring" from The Four Seasons

Join us for a celebration of the small but mighty bowed string instruments of the High Baroque: treble viola da gamba and five and six-string pardessus de viole. Tina Chancey, John Mark Rozendaal, and Webb Wiggins perform 18th century French and Italian chamber music by Couperin, Corelli, Marais, and Corrette.

Special features: Vivaldi for pardessus; Chedeville’s arrangement of “Spring” from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and the first modern performance of Antoine Forqueray’s sublime bass viol music on the pardessus, just as he suggested on his title page in 1750.

Admission $25 (seniors $20; students/under 35 $10)
