Improvised – Dead Music Revival Buzzer Bonanza

Join the Live Music Project for the Dead Music Project – a Halloween benefit concert featuring new works that channel long-dead composers.

Enjoy music by (very much alive) Seattle composers Spencer Arias, Kaley Lane Eaton, Aaron Grad, and Michaud Savage. Arias' Variations brings a Beethoven sonata to life in three modern styles. Eaton's P(L)AYBACK promises to scare using a digitally processed piano interpretation of the "Lacrimosa" from Mozart's Requiem and various recordings. And Grad's Razumovsky Rhythm Changes is designed as a written rendition of what Beethoven might have busted out as a bebop improviser, including self-congratulatory quotations.

After intermission, we'll put our delightful artists to the test with some serious shenaniganry as we bring out the buzzers and turn to the audience for a dead music revival, improv-style.

Hosted by the Steinway Piano Gallery, the concert will raise funds for the LMP as it embarks on a journey of long-term sustainable arts service. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Bring your own composer-wig if you like!

Suggested donation: $10 general, $25 front-row seating. 18 & under free.
