Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Sammamish Symphony Orchestra, the 2016-2017 Season opens with Schubert’s 8th Symphony, often referred to as his unfinished symphony. Incomplete it may be, but Franz Schubert's eighth symphony is still a perfect masterpiece, a miraculous combination of passion, darkness and beauty.

Jean Sibelius, Finland's leading composer, is represented by Finlandia, a fervent cry for his country's independence, as well as the folk-inspired Karelia Suite and the poignant symphonic poem Spring Song.

Seattle-based actor Kurt Beattie, longtime artistic director of ACT Theatre, joins the Sammamish Symphony for a rare performance of Benjamin Lees' setting of The Trumpet of the Swan by beloved author E. B. White (Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little).

Tickets: $20 ($15 senior/student, $10 children 10 and under)
