The Eurasia Consort presents a special performance dedicated to unity in the face of divisiveness and fear. The ensemble performs music of Japan, China, Turkey, and Western Europe, imagining the sounds that could have been heard along the ancient trade route. Performers include August Denhard, lute; Tomoko Sugawara, kugo harp; Munir Nurettin Beken, ud; Antonio Gomez, percussion; Jo Baim, recorder and organ; and Miyo Aoki, recorder. Works by Dimitri Cantemir, Giray Han, a premiere by Yao Heng-lu, and more. Free-will offering accepted.

About The Eurasia Consort

Eurasia Consort would like to introduce some ancient and fascinating East Asian music. This Eastern repertoire is poorly known, both East and West. We now hope it may find its rightful place in the Early Far Eastern canon of music. We like to revive ancient music using manuscripts with instruments that survive in the Emperor's Treasury House, Shosoin, Japan.
