Traditional carols as well as some newer selections, many with organ accompaniment, will be featured. Christina Rossetti’s famed poem In the bleak midwinter appears in the traditional setting by Harold Darke and a new version by William Averitt. Cecilia McDowall’s cantata A Winter’s Night incorporates traditional carols into a fun but modern context. And we celebrate two local composers with large-scale works: Abraham Kaplan’s Eight Days of Chanukah and Ancient Souls by Composer-in-Residence Karen P. Thomas. You also won’t want to miss hearing William Walton’s Magnificat and Nunc dimittis.
Admission: $17 advance ($20 at the door); $12 ($15) student/senior; free under 18 with paying adult.
