Rachel Swerdlow, viola
Walter Gray, cello

Mozart – Piano Quartet in E-flat major, K. 493
Schubert – "Trout" quintet

Schubert's beloved Trout quintet will highlight the second concert of the season by the Fulton Street Chamber Players, composed of leading professional musicians in Seattle and guests from afar. Also on the program will be a Mozart's Piano Quartet in E-flat major. Joseph Adam, resident organist at Benaroya Hall and St. James Cathedral, will be the guest pianist for both works.

The Fulton Street Chamber Players, named for a street on Queen Anne where founders Walter Gray and Rachel Swerdlow reside, perform regularly at Folio. Concerts are set in the round, so audiences sit close to the players, as would have been the practice when these works were first written. The programs are staged in the lovely Main Reading Room of Folio, a new membership library and performance venue in the heart of downtown. All members of the audience are invited to a reception for the artists after the program.

Hal Grossman (violin) is a recitalist and chamber musician who teaches at the University of Oklahoma and University of Oregon. Joseph Adam (piano) has been cathedral organist at St. James in Seattle since 1993, and performs widely as organist and pianist. Jon Green (string bass) has been with the Seattle Symphony since 1998. Rachel Swerdlow (viola) plays with the Seattle Symphony and is the co-founder of the Fulton Street Chamber Players. Walter Gray (cello) plays for the Seattle Symphony and is the co-founder of the Players. He is an experienced chamber musician since playing in the early days with the Kronos String Quartet.

Admission: $20 general, $15 Folio members, $10 students & under 25
