Puget Sound Concert Opera presents 'La Wally' by Catalani
$20 (check or cash)
Taking advantage of the rich and vibrant local classical music scene, Puget Sound Concert Opera (PSCO) takes pride in casting the best local performers to create high quality affordable productions of the world's greatest operas. With our innovative concert opera format, PSCO's productions allow audience members to see, hear, and feel the music up-close in intimate venues.
Featuring beautiful Italian verismo music, La Wally takes place in the Austrian Tyrol where the free-spirited but vulnerable Wally is in love with the handsome Giuseppe Hagenbach, the son of her father’s implacable enemy. This leads to the inevitable disastrous conclusion. Best known for its aria “Ebben? Ne andrò lontana” (Well, then? I’ll go far away”) sung when she decides to leave her home forever), it features a memorable operatic death in which the heroine throws herself into an avalanche.
Sung in Italian with supertitles in English and Italian, La Wally will be performed concert-style with a full cast of soloists, chorus, and an eleven-piece chamber orchestra.
Tickets: $20 (check or cash, no credit cards)
