Join SFS for emerging… a recital featuring eleven of our region’s top young flutists with blossoming careers, celebrating the wealth of flute-playing talent that graces the Pacific Northwest. We will also pay tribute to the past presidents of the Seattle Flute Society, all of whom have been invited to spend the evening with us.

The varied program will feature music for flute (plus baroque flute and piccolo) from the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, by well- and lesser-known composers. The players come from all over the United States as well as from Spain, Korea, and Serbia, and the music they have selected from is all over the world: truly an eclectic and attractive mixture. This program of old and new, known and to-be discovered repertoire, is an exciting way to begin the 38th season of the Seattle Flute Society!

Performers include: Lauren Asimakoupoulos, Kristin Bateman, Gemma Goday, Natalie Ham, Nayoung Ham, Erin Happenny, Leanna Keith, Marija Komlenovic, Cassie Lear, Colleen McElroy, Sarah Pyle, and Joshua Romatowski.

After the recital, join us for our season kick-off party at 9pm in the Fishbowl. Meet and mingle with the Seattle Flute Society community and get to know our new board members for the 2017-2018 season. (The Fishbowl is located on the first floor of the University of Washington School of Music)
