Seven of BYSO's nine orchestras and ensembles are featured in this special concert – nearly 300 students in all. Works presented include Overture for a City by Samuel Jones, former Composer in Residence with the Seattle Symphony; "Polovetsian Dances" from Borodín's opera Prince Igor; "Jupiter" from Holst's The Planets; and much more.
Northwest Public Radio classical music host Steve Reeder interviews Jones during a free pre-concert lecture beginning at 1:15 pm.
