The winds take center stage for an eclectic program at one of Seattle's most engaging spaces for live music – The Triple Door! Enjoy craft cocktails and a menu inspired by local Northwest ingredients, all while savoring rarely performed works for woodwinds and strings.
Principal oboe Shannon Spicciati leads the program's main work – Dvorak's lyrical and virtuosic Serenade for Wind Instruments, Cello and Double Bass. On the first half, Strauss' witty and adventurous tone poem Til Eulenspiegel is reimagined with just five performers. Also featured are two other 20th century gems: a lively suite by Darius Milhaud, and Sergei Prokofiev's unique quintet, an evocative work born out of a chamber ballet the composer wrote for a traveling French troupe.
