Dr. Stacey Mastrian, soprano

Dr. Stacey Mastrian, soprano, will give a recital with Becca Cantrell, soprano, and Ta Wei Tsai, piano, of songs and arias by Donizetti, Fauré, Massenet, Mozart, Purcell, Schubert, J. Strauss, and R. Strauss, and duets by Brahms, Mendelssohn, and more. A suggested donation of $5 will be taken at the door, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit a local charity. The recital will be preceded by a conservatory-style vocal masterclass from 6:00pm to 7:00pm with high-school singers.

Dr. Stacey Mastrian has performed on stages around the world and taught at Peabody Conservatory before her recent move to Seattle. Collaborative pianist Ta Wei Tsai is a Peabody alumnus and served on the faculty of the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C. Becca Cantrell is the Director of Choirs at Bishop Blanchet and is a teaching artist with Seattle Opera and Seattle Girl Choir.

About Stacey Mastrian

Stacey Mastrian, a "manifestly courageous" (Boston Globe) and "versatile and passionate" (Der Tagesspiegel) Italian-American soprano, has sung at the Konzerthaus (Berlin), Kennedy Center (DC), Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur (Montréal), Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center (NY), St. Peter's (Vatican City), Teatro La Fenice (Venice), and in Mexico and more than half of the U.S. states. Dr. Mastrian performs music from Hildegard von Bingen to the present, specializing in Italian vocal music, and she teaches voice, diction, and anatomy. She has been a Fulbright grantee to Italy and appears on the NAXOS, Neuma, and Stradivarius labels.
