This may be the only time you'll ever hear a trio of trios written for double bass, viola, and toy piano! Would you want to miss this? No, no you would not.

Kids are welcome to join us in the company of a guardian.

We'll provide food. You provide yourself. We can't wait to see you.

5:30pm – Doors & pizza
7:30pm – Music
8:30pm – Good night!

P.S. One more thing. 100% of beer proceeds (minus tax) will be donated to the Live Music Project, because Lagunitas is wonderful and supports nonprofits two nights out of every week. For more information, check out their Community Support page.

About the musicians

Ryan May (viola) writes code by day and plays Viola every night he can. If that doesn't scream “misanthrope,” he don't know what does. But the shoe fits! He’s so excited to help bring this fresh music to life!

Ariel Kemp (double bass) began his musical studies at age 5 in Israel, playing a variety of wind instruments until age 18 when he chose to pursue other interests. At age 38, he at last found his musical voice when he began playing the double bass. Ariel is a member of the Seattle Philharmonic's Mighty Bass Section and serves as one of its rotating principals. He also performs with a variety of other Seattle area ensembles. When he's not playing the bass, Ariel can be found working at a custom woodworking shop, jogging, gardening, rock climbing, and spending time with his wife.

Tristan Greeno (toy piano) is a Seattle-based pianist with a devotion to music young and old. He has been featured as a soloist with the Alicante (Spain), and Federal Way Symphony Orchestras. As a chamber musician, Tristan has held fellowships at the Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice at the New England Conservatory, and the Cortona Sessions for New Music in Italy. Tristan holds an undergraduate degree in piano performance from the University of Kansas, and is currently pursuing a masters degree from the University of Washington, where he holds a graduate teaching assistantship in the UW Modern Music Ensemble.

About the composers

Jessi Harvey, also known by George, is a Montana-born, Seattle-based composer, with degrees from Bryn Mawr College and University of New Mexico. Her music has its wellspring of inspiration from nature with trends of sonic surprises and an incredibly dry sense of humor which has been described as "full of surprises and consistently attention holding.” Works have been played throughout the US and Canada including at the Montreal Contemporary Music Lab, Music by Women Festival, and Waterloo Contemporary Music Sessions. Joyce Kwon is a composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles, who loves to nap. She recently released her debut album Dream of Home, which features her songs on voice and the 12-string traditional Korean gayageum in an indie folk/art pop setting, and is starting to work on an EP of original choral music and a toy piano recital series on the internet. Joyce studied composition and contemporary improvisation at UC Berkeley and jazz voice at the Manhattan School of Music. (joycekwon.com)

Spencer Arias is a composer and performer based in East Lansing, Michigan, who creates highly evocative music oftentimes represented by lived experiences and social commentary. Having worked with dancers, musicians, visual artists, and poets, he thoroughly enjoys collaboration, improvisation, and community engagement. He also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, photography, nature, and too much Netflix. (spencerariasmusic.com)

About Live Music Project

The Live Music Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing arts access and arts community in Seattle and around the world.

We believe that a lack of resources should not be a barrier to audience. We believe that access to the arts begins with access to information about the arts.

Our purpose is to connect people with the means to access and experience live classical music in a way that strengthens community, celebrates listener agency, and amplifies local arts resources.
