Ludwig van Beethoven – String Quartet No. 16 in F major, Op. 135

The sunny, wood lined design of Sokol Blosser's tasting room feels like it was practically made to be filled with violins. Join us for Beethoven's final quartet; the funky and powerful voice of Daniel Bernard Roumain, and lost gem by Isabela Leonarda.

We are delighted to return to Sokol Blosser, and to bring with us Daniel Bernard Roumain, making his WVCMF debut as 2020 'virtual' Composer-in-Residence! We will present Daniel's Quartet No. 5 (inspired by Rosa Parks) and a selection of his Hip Hop Etudes and Studies, along with Beethoven's final String Quartet, and a strikingly beautiful violin sonata by Isabella Leonarda, a long neglected baroque woman.

Known for his signature violin sounds infused with myriad electronic, urban, and African-American music influences, Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) takes his genre-bending music beyond the proscenium. He is a composer of chamber, orchestral, and operatic works; has won an Emmy for Outstanding Musical Composition for his collaborations with ESPN; featured as keynote performer at technology conferences; and created large scale, site-specific musical events for public spaces.

The performance will be followed by a free post-concert Zoom where we can all hang out and chat with Daniel (and sip something tasty)!

The livestream will take place at 5:30pm Pacific. Broadcasting live from the Sokol Blosser Winery Tasting Room, Dayton, OR.
