Composer/conductor Leonard Bernstein’s acclaimed musical West Side Story is one of the greatest love stories of all time. Due to its tremendous success, Bernstein adapted it into the Symphonic Dances from West Side Story in 1961. The show is a fusion of opera, ballet, jazz, and classical music that outlines the classic love vs hate story line, where two street gangs clash horns on the streets of New York.

Original performance date: October 21, 2017

The broadcast begins at 7:30pm Pacific / 10:30pm Eastern.
