In unprecedented times, new evolving models and ways of thinking are necessary. National Sawdust has responded to the pandemic by creating the New Works Commission, and awarding twenty composers the resources to create a new work for streamed performance.

This is the second of two online performances of the commissioned works, hosted by the composers themselves, we will hear about their experience with the commission, and how it has impacted their work during this time. They will give us an overview of the music, their process, and technical elements within the work, and what it means for them to be an artist at this time.

The performance will feature the JACK Quartet performing music by 10 composers by Eddie Codrington, Jessie Cox, Yaz Lancaster, Ted Moore, Daniel Sabzghabaei, Golnaz Shariatzadeh, Nina Shekhar, Rajna Swaminathan, Tanyaradzwa Tawengwa, and Nicholas Tran.

The broadcast will take place at 5pm Eastern / 2pm Pacific.
