Sundays at Icicle Creek continues with Hoorig Poochikian, violin, and Elizabeth Dorman, piano, performing from Canyon Wren Recital Hall.

Praised by Joshua Kosman of the San Francisco Chronicle for her “crisp, brightly finished” playing and her “elegance and verve,” pianist Elizabeth Dorman received the 2017 Father Merlet Award from Pro Musicis and was a finalist in the 2018 Leipzig International Bach Competition. Dr. Dorman freelances as a soloist and chamber musician and lives in Berkeley, CA. She has appeared at international festivals including Tanglewood, Britt, Sarasota, Aspen, Toronto Summer Music, Icicle Creek, has twice been an Artist-in-Residence at the Banff Centre, and her live solo performances have been nationally broadcast on NPR and public radio.

Armenian-American violinist and Icicle Creek Chamber Music Institute alum Hoorig Taline Poochikian began playing the violin with her mother at the age of six. She has performed at a number of venues across North America including Carnegie’s Weill Hall, the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, Merkin Hall, and the National Arts Center in Ottawa, Canada. She has also performed in Armenia, Egypt, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Currently based in New York City, Hoorig has received her doctoral degree in violin performance at Stony Brook University, where she studied with Hagai Shaham, Arnaud Sussmann, Phil Setzer, and Jennifer Frautschi.
