Kent Nagano, conductor

Franz Schubert – Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major, D. 485
Toshio Hosokawa – Stilles Meer ("Silent Sea")

Renowned for interpretations of clarity, elegance, and intelligence, conductor Kent Nagano leads the DSO in a performance of Schubert’s fifth symphony, written during a time when the composer was captivated by the works of Mozart. Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa’s opera Stilles Meer was his response to the March 2011 tsunami and subsequent Fukushima nuclear disaster.

The broadcast will take place at 7:20pm Eastern / 4:20pm Pacific. The program will be available for on-demand viewing for (2) two weeks after the livestream event.
