Tara Helen O’Connor (flute), Monica Ellis (bassoon), William Purvis (French horn), and Oregon Symphony musicians James Shields (clarinet) and Martin Hébert (oboe) rehearse two inspiring works.

Every Wednesday during the 2021 Summer Festival patrons are invited to go behind the scenes and observe CMNW’s world-class musicians working together to put the finishing touches on music for upcoming performances. An informal Q&A follows the rehearsal.

About the Festival: After a year without live music, we are so excited to share our plans for a joyful and reflective Chamber Music Northwest 2021 Summer Festival! We present to you an array of thrilling and deeply moving repertoire, performed by the greatest artists in the world, that you can enjoy both live and at home.

Some of CMNW’s favorite performers will return, such as the Dover and Brentano string quartets, and cellist Paul Watkins of the Emerson Quartet. The East Coast Chamber Orchestra, saxophonist Timothy McAllister, guitarist Jason Vieaux, and bass-baritone Davóne Tines headline the star-studded cast who will make their CMNW debuts. Timeless classics such as Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings and Copland’s Appalachian Spring will be heard alongside five exciting world premieres.

We hope you will join us this summer, for both live and at-home performances, to reflect on the past year and rejoice with the optimism that music brings into our lives!

The event will take place at 11am.

Reservations for each Open Rehearsal will be available one week prior to the event. Please check back on Wednesdays to secure your spot.

Please select only one open rehearsal to attend so others have the opportunity to participate this summer.

Advance ticket reservation is required. Patrons without reservations will not be admitted. Masks and social distancing protocols are enforced.
