Music@Menlo’s nineteenth season offers nine programs presented over three weekends, three trios of concerts comprising mini-festivals in their own right. This summer’s second set of programs “Modern Romance,” begins with one of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Op. 1 Piano Trios, which loudly proclaimed the arrival of an audacious new musical voice which was destined to alter the course of Western music forever. The concert concludes with Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quintet No. 2, composed at the height of his career, a work combining Classical elegance with Romantic passion.
The livestream will take place at 4pm Pacific. Broadcasting live from Menlo School, Atherton, CA.
