Franz Schubert – Fantasia in F minor for piano four hands, Op. posth. 103, D. 940
Ludwig van Beethoven – Piano Trio in D major, Op. 70, No. 1 "Ghost"
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – String Quintet No. 4 in G minor, K. 516

Experience three extraordinary compositions written by three musical giants. Although Franz Schubert only died one year after Ludwig van Beethoven, his music was already reaching for the power of romantic lyricism in his profound Fantasy in F minor for four-hand piano. The famed “Ghost” trio by Beethoven received its nickname for the ominous and programmatic slow movement full of dark murmurs and shocking outbursts. Mozart’s String Quintet in G minor is a late work that captured his pure genius using the same key as his famous Symphony No. 40.

Enjoy commentary from the festival artists and 2021 Olympic Chamber Music Fellows about the compositions on the program and the behind-the-scenes insights about rehearsing these incredible compositions.

The livestream will take place at 5pm Pacific.
