Johannes Brahms – Piano Quartet No. 2 in A major, Op. 26
Johannes Brahms – Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34

One of the most enduring collaborations in chamber music, esteemed pianist Garrick Ohlsson and the eminent Takács Quartet reunite for two Brahms chamber music masterpieces. The Takács opens the concert with the elegiac and serenely beautiful A major Quartet. Ohlsson, continuing his exploration of all of Brahms piano works, joins for one of the great chamber music touchstones, Brahms’ turbulent, passionate F minor Quintet – a work filled with drama and verve, and what The New York Times called “Brahms at his intoxicating best.”
