The year 1720 was a seminal moment in the history of stringed instruments as J.S. Bach composed both the iconic Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin and Suites for Violoncello. Three centuries later, these works remain the gold standard of unaccompanied music in both technical achievement and artistic mastery. Celebrate the 301st anniversary of these unaccompanied gems featuring Cello Suites Nos. 4 and 5, and the D minor Partita, concluding with the famous Chaconne.
The concert will begin at 7:30pm.
