Gian Carlo Menotti – The Telephone
PSCO returns to the live stage with a unique double bill of comic masterpieces by 20th-century Italian-American composer, Gian Carlo Menotti. The Old Maid and the Thief was one of the first operas written specifically to be performed on the radio and revolves around a small-town prohibitionist, her maid, and a handsome drifter who enjoys his liquor. In The Telephone, a young man competes for his beloved's affections with her enjoyment of being on the phone.
The performance will begin at 5pm.
