After captivating audiences and critics all over the world, Lawrence Brownlee, one of the world's leading opera figures, returns to Seattle Opera, where he got his start as a Young Artist. A regular at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Brownlee’s versatile “instrument of great beauty and expression” (NPR Music) elicits standing ovations whether he’s performing Rossini or Donizetti, or works from his song-cycle on African American identity.

Brownlee has prepared a varied program of famous art song, arias, and spirituals. Audiences will enjoy classic Italian songs along with selections by Franz Schubert, Richard Strauss, and Gabriel Fauré. After intermission Brownlee performs arias from Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, and Kurt Weill's Street Scene, concluding his program with a selection of spirituals.

Tickets to this concert are currently available as part of a 2021/22 season ticket package. Individual tickets to this concert will be on sale later in 2021.
