The “fiercely intelligent and expressively pristine” (The New Yorker) Brentano String Quartet, CMNW’s 2021-22 Artists-in-Residence, unleash an immersive program in celebration of Stravinsky through the medium of quartet and beyond. Interlacing the legendary 20th-century composer’s beautifully idiomatic compositions with poetry and works from his contemporaries and acolytes, you’ll first go on an eclectic journey deep into the world of Stravinsky. That immersive investigation will be followed by masterpieces that influenced Stravinsky including 16th-century madrigals and Beethoven’s epic final quartet with its wild, kaleidoscopic finale that could almost be mistaken for Stravinsky himself.

The program will include a recording of Barbara Sukowa reading Amy Lowell's poem Stravinsky’s Three Pieces Grotesques for String Quartet.

While the landscape will continue to change, for now, this is Chamber Music Northwest’s in-person audience policy for the 2021/22 season concerts:

-All ticketholders will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for entry + photo ID. "Fully vaccinated" means that the patron has received two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson at least 14 days prior to the concert date.
-All patrons, regardless of age, test results, or vaccination status, will be required to wear masks at all times, except when consuming food or beverages in permitted areas.
-Patrons under the age of 12 are not permitted until a vaccine becomes available and vaccination proof is provided.
