The Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America (UBC), led by Artistic Director and Conductor Oleh Mahlay, brings its unique holiday program featuring a 60-stringed Ukrainian instrument, the bandura, and male chorus. In its 103rd concert season, the UBC is comprised of musicians from across North America. Set to the sounds of the bandura, the “A Bandura Christmas” program features programming in the English, Latin, and Ukrainian languages. As ambassadors of the Ukrainian musical tradition, they have presented over 1,000 concerts in North America, Australia, Europe, and Ukraine. With an extensive outreach program to schools and organizations, the UBC is dedicated to sharing the bandura with university and high-school music programs, as well as the global arts community.
