The concert, originally scheduled for January 23, was postponed and rescheduled for April 20. All tickets for January 23 will be honored.

The Danish String Quartet’s joy for music-making and "rampaging energy" (The New Yorker) is entirely infectious. The dazzling Grammy-nominated group – three Danes and a Norwegian – perform Schumann, a uniquely curated suite of dances, and Schubert's reflection or mortality, the turbulent and riveting "Death and the Maiden" quartet.

Attending online: Registrants for this concert will have the option whether to attend in person or to watch the live stream of the performance at home. Registrants will receive the secure streaming link by email on the morning of the concert, and the stream will be available on-demand for 72 hours.

Attending in person – COVID-19 Protocols:
- Proof of full vaccination and, for those eligible, proof of booster dose required for all patrons, artists, staff, and volunteers.
- Everybody must wear an acceptable mask at all times inside the venue buildings. Per Johns Hopkins University, the following masks are acceptable: N95 masks; KN95 masks; KF94 masks; a combination of cloth mask with a surgical mask

About Danish String Quartet

The Danish Quartet celebrated their 20th Anniversary in 2024, having formed when violinists Frederik Øland and Rune Tonsgaard Sørenson and violist Asbjørn Nørgaard were teenagers under the mentorship of Tim Frederiksen of Copenhagen's Royal Danish Academy of Music. In 2008, the three Danes were joined by Norwegian cellist Fredrik Schøyen Sjölin.

The Grammy-nominated Danish String Quartet has become one of today's most in-demand classical quartets. The quartet has been the recipient of many awards and appointments, including Musical America's 2020 Ensemble of the Year; the Borletti-Buitoni Trust; BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist; and a coveted spot in the Bowers Program (formerly CMS Two). In 2011, the Quartet was awarded the Carl Nielsen Prize, the highest cultural honor in Denmark. On October 8, the Danish String Quartet was awarded the Léonie Sonning Music Prize. The quartet is the first ensemble to ever win the accolade, which is usually awarded to individual artists. They join other past award recipients including Igor Stravinsky, Miles Davis, Leonard Bernstein, and Yo-Yo Ma.
