Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov — Scheherazade, Op. 35
In a program of enchanting stories, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s stirring Scheherazade showcases the power of the orchestra, weaving a famous Middle Eastern yarn with gorgeous and colorful melodies. Similarly, Paul Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice tells a tale of sorcery and mayhem with brilliantly evocative music.
