Seattle's friendliest orchestra presents their winter concert, Palaces of the Mind, exploring the ideas of interspecies communication, mental musical composition and the echoing expanse of a great symphony.

On Sunday, February 27th the orchestra will play Speaking Eyes by contemporary Taiwanese composer Ming Hsiu-Yen, a piece inspired by time spent visiting the resident water buffaloes at Taipei National University of the Arts where Yen is an associate professor. Also on the program is the "Classical" Symphony by Sergei Prokofiev, written in 1917 at the height of the Russian Revolution, and "The Great" C major Symphony by Franz Schubert, described by one reviewer as "life in every fiber, color in the finest shadings, meaning everywhere, the acutest etching of detail, and all flooded with a Romanticism which we have encountered elsewhere in Franz Schubert".

The all-ages concert will be played with one intermission.
