Israeli mandolin wizard Avi Avital has dazzled audiences around the world, toured with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad, and earned a Grammy nomination for his virtuosity and joy-filled artistry. He teams up with the cutting-edge young string quartet Brooklyn Rider (two of its four members are also with The Knights) for a dynamic, culturally rich program that traverses late 18th century Spanish-inflected Boccherini, a new work by the intrepid composer/pianist/vocalist Clarice Assad, a premiere by internationally-renowned Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov and more, concluding with a mesmerizing work by Silkroad favorite Lev “Lyova” Zhurbin — a fabulous, feverish gypsy tarantella.

Attending online: Concert available for viewing online for 72 hours from time of broadcast.

Attending in person: Adults and children age 12+ must show proof of vaccination upon arrival at 92Y. Masks must be worn by everyone over the age of 2, regardless of vaccination status.
