St. James Cathedral Organist & Director of Music Joseph Adam embarks upon a year-long celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of César Franck and his magnificent contributions to the French organ repertoire. In this series of four recitals, Franck’s major works will be surveyed along with major works by his most important successors at the Basilica of St. Clotilde in Paris. This first program includes the Fantasie in A, the Final in B-flat, and the Choral in E major, one of Franck’s final compositions, along with the Suite brève by Jean Langlais, Titular Organist from 1945 to 1991.

The concert begins at 7:30pm and is approximately one hour and ten minutes long with no intermission.

Following the lead of the major arts organizations in Seattle, we will continue to require masks to be worn at all times during a concert in the Cathedral and proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 48 hours of the performance start time, through Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
