Join multi-instrumentalist Peter Nelson-King and guitarist Mark Hilliard Wilson as they come together at Seattle's beautiful Chapel Performance Space to mount a unique and captivating program. Joining classical guitar with the contrasting sounds of brass, vocals, and keyboards may seem an unlikely pairing, but the musicians have found hidden gems of composition that bring out the fullest potential of the instruments, and will explore their outer limits in an extended, genre-defying improvisation in the recital's second half. You've never heard these works before, or these musicians together, so the one-night performance will be an unforgettable experience.
Featuring the world premiere of Carson Cooman's Hidden Aria, composed especially for Peter Nelson-King, as well as world premieres by Kirk-Evan Billet and Isaac Schankler, and rarities by Frank Campo, Donald Crockett, and Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon.
COVID-19 precautions are strongly encouraged.

Peter Nelson-King is an active performer and teacher on trumpet and piano, and plays regularly with multiple orchestras and large ensembles in the Seattle area. A King County native, they earned degrees from University of Puget Sound and Boston University, returning to the Seattle area after freelancing in the Northeast. They are a longtime member of Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra and Brass Band Northwest, and a frequent recurring member of the experimental jazz group Scrambler. As a solo and chamber performer, they specialize in promoting works by composers who have unjustly fallen into neglect, and have revived major works by dozens of these composers for Seattle audiences.
