Having been forced into a hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years, ISing Choir will be lifting their voices and lifting our collective spirits with a colorful program featuring choral music from the Americas. The program features choral music which was intended to be performed on an international tour to Italy, but after two attempts to travel, ISing has been forced to cancel. We have, somewhat humorously, titled the program Stuck in the Americas.

Under the direction of Artistic Director, Stephen Galván, and with Yvonne Yang on piano, the choir will perform several pieces that have touched the hearts of audiences in the past, amongst them Shenandoah arranged by James Erb, My Heart is a Holy Place by Patricia Van Ness, and Sure on this Shining Night by Morten Lauridsen. The choir will also premiere an arrangement of a folk song deeply rooted in Mexican culture, La Llorona, featuring soloist Mercedes Estevez. ISing will make use of The Reser by singing antiphonally O sacrum convivium by Mexican Baroque composer, Antonio de Salazar, showcasing the wonderful acoustic qualities of the brand new auditorium.

Tickets are $5 to cover costs. There will also be a donation requested, with 100% of the funds collected to benefit HomePlate Youth Services. HomePlate serves Washington County, supporting the positive development of young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

COVID-19 Protocols: The safety of our patrons, artists, staff, and volunteers continues to be important to us. For this performance – all patrons, regardless of age, are required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to attend events until further notice.

The Reser strongly recommends but does not require guests to wear masks in our building or when attending Reser Presents performances.
