We commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ralph Vaughan Williams, one of history's greatest composers. Vaughan Williams was the focal point of Britain's choral world for fifty years, and we celebrate with several folksong arrangements and his unaccompanied masterwork, the Three Shakespeare Songs. In acknowledgment of his influence in British choral music, we will also present music by his mentor, Hubert Parry; two of his friends, Gustav Holst and John Ireland; and two composers of younger generations, Herbert Howells and Gerald Finzi, who Vaughan Williams influenced and befriended. Join us for a celebration of the English countryside, history, church, and seafaring traditions... even piracy!

COVID-19 Protocols: In alignment with many local arts and culture organizations, we request that audience members wear masks and practice social distancing throughout the concert. In addition, audience members are expected to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
